Introducción: el uso de agua para biberones

Como madre o padre, puede resultarte complicado preparar un biberón correctamente, sobre todo si eres primerizo/a en esto de tener hijos. El agua embotellada puede ser una buena solución, pero hay que saber elegir la más conveniente para el pequeño de la casa. Por eso, a continuación te mostramos las diferentes opciones que tienes pensando siempre en la buena salud de tu hijo.

Pensando en la salud del recién nacido

En el mercado, existen distintos tipos de agua mineral natural a los que puedes tener acceso para preparar el biberón de tu bebé… Las principales son:

Agua de mineralización débil

El agua mineralizada es muy apropiada para dársela a tus hijos, porque está libre de bacterias. Por ello no precisa ser hervida, pero debes cuidar que sea de mineralización débil.

Hay que tener en cuenta los diferentes tipos de agua ya que aquellas que tienen mayor cantidad de minerales podría provocar molestias renales para el pequeño de la casa.

Estos son los diferentes tipos de agua mineral natural:

  • Agua muy blanda, de 0 a 79 mg.
  • Agua blanda, de 80 a 149 mg.
  • Agua semidura, de 150 a 329 mg.
  • Agua dura, de 330 a 549 mg.
  • Agua muy dura, mayor de 550 mg.

De todas ellas el agua muy blanda es el mejor para el uso del biberón.

Por qué es atractiva el agua mineral natural

Muy sencillo: porque solo hay que abrir una botella de agua mineral natural y usarla para prepararle directamente la fórmula en su biberón. Sabiendo que debes elegir siempre la de mineralización muy débil , y también has de tener en cuenta su condición natural.

Con un agua de este tipo, es importante que adecues el volumen de la botella al agua que necesitas para hacer los biberones de tu bebe con la finalidad de evitar posibles contaminaciones.

Cuando vayas a comprar una botella de agua para tu hijo, debes tener en cuenta la cantidad que vas a usar al día. Así que lo mejor es que tengas en cuenta la edad de tu pequeño y la cantidad que se recomienda consumir por día según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).

Para la OMS, el recién nacido debe tomar una media de 0,8 litros diarios de agua. Esta cantidad irá en aumento a lo largo de los años, hasta llegar a los 2,3 litros diarios ya siendo adolescente. Del mismo modo que va aumentando en cantidad, también puede hacerlo con respecto a la mineralización y a la cantidad de flúor.

El flúor es un factor muy importante. Debes cuidar la cantidad presente, sobre todo en los niños pequeños, ya que un exceso puede afectar a su desarrollo bucodental.

Para controlar la cantidad de flúor, algunos estudios (G. Sanit) confirman que no se debe superar los 0,7 mg/L. Un control más estricto, como preguntar en el suministro de agua potable de tu localidad la cantidad de flúor que se maneja, podría ser una buena opción, sobre todo si tus pequeños ingieren agua del grifo.
