El agua es pura vida, por ello afirmamos que la vida emerge en el manantial Sacalm. En este sentido, los manantiales de agua como el de Font Vella.

Es de fundamental importancia cuidar el entorno y el ecosistema natural, ahora más azotado que nunca por el impacto del cambio climático en el planeta Tierra, nuestra casa.

Mapa de aguas

Si observamos el mapa de aguas en España, dirigimos nuestra mirada a Cataluña. Un artículo de ‘El País‘ certifica que el 27 % del agua embotellada que consumimos en España procede de los manantiales catalanes.

Esta es una buena razón para despertar no solo nuestra curiosidad, sino también a nuestra alma viajera y dar un paseo virtual o presencial, según los gustos, por este territorio que nos invita a paladear el agua en estado puro y natural sin estridencias ni artificios, aunque suene a tópico.

Buscamos agua

Acompáñanos, pues, a adentrarnos en las entrañas más profundas de la naturaleza donde se esconde este tesoro que hace posible la vida. ¡Buscamos agua! Por ello, vamos hacia el norte y paramos en Girona. Sin duda, el Montseny nos atrapa por su belleza y, naturalmente, porque es parada obligatoria si hablamos de este líquido incoloro, insípido e inodoro.

¿Qué hace tan especial a este territorio?

El Montseny se distingue del resto porque en un mismo espacio integra tres biomas. ¡Vaya palabreja! Los biomas son áreas que tienen unas características comunes y están definidos por su tipo de vegetación y su fauna. Pues bien, el Montseny tiene tres.

Tres biomas

¿Cuáles son? El mediterráneo, el eurosiberino y el boreoalpino. Por ello, en el Montseny podrás encontrar especies como el pino carrasco o los alcornoques del primer bioma o pinos silvestres y abetos blancos del segundo. Del tercero, podrás disfrutar de la pradera alpina.

Esta singularidad, junto con su ubicación geográfica al tratarse del parque más meridional de Europa, le valió un merecido reconocimiento de la UNESCO en 1978 como Reserva de la Biosfera.

La comarca del agua

Seguimos en ruta hasta llegar a La Selva que es una de las tres comarcas, junto con Osona y el Vallés Oriental, en las que se asienta el Montseny. Nos quedamos aquí porque es donde hallaremos el tesoro líquido que andamos buscando.

No es de extrañar que a esta comarca se la conozca como ‘La comarca del agua’, porque además de las seductoras brumas de la Costa Brava, tierra adentro es un auténtico vergel por sus ríos, sus manantiales y sus fuentes de agua natural.

Difícil elección

Ahora que estamos en el epicentro de la comarca, vamos a elegir unos de sus espacios naturales vinculados con el agua para conocerlo con más detalle. La elección no es nada fácil, pero nos decidimos por el manantial de Font Vella porque la marca que embotella este agua y, que seguramente, has bebido en más de una ocasión, ha sido distinguida por el origen de su agua según publica ‘El Economista’.

Un poco de historia

Todo empezó hace más de un siglo, cuando Jaumet del Flabiol aprovechaba la época estival para ofrecer el agua de Sant Hilari Sacalm a los turistas que iban a disfrutar de la belleza del entorno y de la naturaleza. Seguramente, jamás pensó que muchos años después su hito perduraría y triunfaría en una sociedad industrializada y urbanita.

Pura vida

El Montsey, Sant Hilari Sacalm y la comarca de La Selva han dejado de ser solo unos nombres que definen un espacio geográfico y de inmensa belleza, para abrir nuevos horizontes sociales y culturales que vinculan el agua y la naturaleza con la sociedad.

Aunque seas el más cosmopolita del mundo nunca podrás renunciar al agua, porque el agua es pura vida. Jamás volverás a beberla sin pensar en esta historia y en su origen. Y, quizás, tu alma viajera ya te pide a gritos ir al Montseny.
